This cozy yet bright restaurant brings an authentic culinary experience that celebrates classic flavors with a modern touch—a true haven for lovers of rich, comforting dishes.
At King’s Kitchen, the menu reads like a love letter to Cantonese cooking, featuring expertly crafted dishes that awaken the senses. Signature specialties such as the Clay Pot Rice with Abalone and Dongpo Pork Claypot boast tender, melt-in-your-mouth textures wrapped in deeply savory sauces. The Roasted Duck on Rice entices with its perfectly crisp skin and succulent meat, while the Beef Chow Fun showcases wok-fired noodles with a smoky char and tender beef slices, delivering both heartiness and an irresistible umami punch.
For noodle lovers, King’s Kitchen offers a delightful variety—from the indulgent XO Stir Fried Instant Noodles to the spiced, creamy notes of the Singapore Style Curry Mei Fun. The steamed rice rolls, like the Crispy Vegan Rice Rolls or the meaty Beef Brisket Rice Rolls, impress with their silky texture and mouthwatering fillings, complemented perfectly by savory hoisin and peanut sauces.
One of the true highlights is their rice claypot selection, where every pot is a harmony of smoky, caramelized crusted rice paired with rich meats like eel, preserved duck, or minced meat with salted fish. While some customers have noted that the traditional crispy “socarrat” bottom of the clay pot rice could be improved for a deeper flavor experience, the overall offerings remain deeply satisfying and comforting.
The restaurant’s atmosphere mirrors its menu—bright and cheery with a welcoming vibe that perfectly suits both late-night food seekers and casual diners craving authentic Cantonese fare. Service here is prompt and warm, with multilingual staff who go out of their way to make guests feel at home, adding a unique cosmopolitan charm to your dining experience.
Regulars and newcomers alike appreciate King’s Kitchen for the generous portions, affordability, and freshness that rarely disappoint. Whether you’re indulging in the crispy roast duck, savoring the richly marinated char siu pork, or exploring the comforting variety of claypot rice dishes, each bite tells a story of tradition, care, and culinary passion.
For those searching for an authentic Chinese dining experience that balances comforting home flavors with vibrant street-food energy, King’s Kitchen in New York’s Chinatown is a delicious destination waiting to be discovered. It’s a place where every dish invites you to slow down, savor, and enjoy the best of Cantonese culinary heritage.
Bright, cheery place on Dumpling and noodle street, Mott. Very reasonable, generous portions. Wontons are very good and substantial. roast duck and bbq pork were good.- Had their Beef Clay Pot which was good, the egg was a touch overcooked and the bottom rice was not charred quite enough for max flavor. They’re pretty new so that might account for the flavors not quite there yet. Food was solid, I’d go back anytime.
Just OK - the roast duck (3/5), the roast pork (3.5/5), and the char sui pork (4/5) were good but nothing special. For the price tho excellent, hen e the 4 stars. Service is quick and fairly nice.
Choy sum w garlic was super yummy! Fresh food and open late. Hard to find a good food place open at 2am. Our server spoke 7 languages! Smart friendly guy. He spoke English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Cantonese, mandarin, and another dialect.
great food at super low prices!! the duck was very crispy and the chashu was perfectly marinated. the clay pot rice takes longer than the other dishes and the server made sure to let me know in advance when i was ordering.
The restaurant is clean and the interior is very nice. The braised goose tofu skin clayplot is flavorful and tender. We got the Char siu, crispy roasted pork, spare ribs, and Chicken—all of which were delicious! Would definitely come again!
Am unassuming place that is untouched by the touristy crowds heading to Chinatown. I had the three bbq combo - I chose roast duck, char siu pork and chicken with scallions - three meals, three different ways of cooking, and different temperatures (chicken was cold, char siu pork was warm), all perfectly done. Based on the advise on the internet, I chose the bbq combo without rice so that I can try the claypot. I chose the preserved meat claypot which was fabulous as well. But I was full to the gill, and giving up on the rice in the BBQ combo wasnt enough trade-off to make space for the claypot!
The place looks really good — clean and welcoming! The waitresses are friendly and provide great service. The food is delicious, especially the roast pork — juicy and tender! The special fried dough stick also looks super cool and tastes amazing. Definitely worth a visit!
One of the best choices for work lunch if your office is nearby. Love the clay pot rice. Suggest to add some soy sauce over the rice to light up the flavor.
